Scott C. Malpass

Mr. Malpass was the former Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at the University of Notre Dame, where he was responsible for the investment of the University’s endowment, working capital, pension and life income assets of some $9.5 billion. The endowment is the 12th largest in American higher education and the largest at a Catholic university. For more than 25 years, he has worked closely with the investment committee of the University’s Board of Trustees in partnering with the most sophisticated investment management organizations throughout the world.

When Mr. Malpass was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 1989, the University’s endowment stood at $425 million. During his long tenure, the endowment has achieved top-tier investment performance during both short- and long-term time periods. He received the Large Endowment Manager of the Year Award from Institutional Investor magazine in 2011, and in 2012 he received the Rodney H. Adams Endowment Award, given annually by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) for contributions to professional development activities in the field of endowment investment management. Prior to Notre Dame, he worked at Irving Trust Company, a Wall Street firm.

Mr. Malpass is a Concurrent Assistant Professor of Finance in the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame. He currently serves on the investment advisory committee for Major League Baseball. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of TIFF (The Investment Fund for Foundations), Catholic Investment Services, Inc., and The Vanguard Group, Inc.

Mr. Malpass holds both a B.S. and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Trygve E. Myhren

Mr. Myhren is President of Myhren Media, Inc., a Denver-based private investment and advisory firm concentrating in traditional media, telecommunications and related Internet applications, software and enabling technology.

Mr. Myhren has been President or Chairman & CEO of various companies, including The Providence Journal Company and King Holdings (both diversified media companies) and American Television and Communications Corporation (now known as Time Warner Cable). He is a member of the Cable Television Hall of Fame and a recipient of the National Cable Television Associations’ Vanguard Award for Leadership. Mr. Myhren was formerly Chairman of the National Cable Television Association, founded the Food Network and Northwest Cable News, and co-founded E! Entertainment, Viewer’s Choice, Cable Labs, and the Cable Advertising Bureau.

His previous corporate Board experience includes Turner Broadcasting (TBS), J.D. Edwards (JDEC), Verio (VRIO), Peapod (PPOD), Providence Journal Co. (PRG), Citizens Bank, Continental Cablevision and Dreyfus Founders Funds. He was also a member of the Time, Inc. Management Committee.

He currently serves on the Board of AdPay, Inc. and as an advisor to Boomcloud, Inc. Mr. Myhren is a member of the University of Denver Board of Trustees and served as its Chairman from 2009-2014. He is also a Trustee of the Denver Art Museum. A member of the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, he served the United States Olympic Committee as Team USA Chief of Mission for the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. He is a past Trustee of the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine and served on the Boards of Rhode Island Hospital and Lifespan Corporation.

Mr. Myhren holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Antonio M. Gotto, Jr.

Dr. Gotto is the Dean Emeritus of Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, New York, where he is also the Provost for Medical Affairs Emeritus of Cornell University. Dr. Gotto previously served as the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean, Lewis Thomas University Professor, and Co-Chairman of the Board of Overseers at Weill Cornell. He is also on the boards of Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Arisaph Pharmaceuticals, and Esperion Therapeutics.

Previously, at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. Gotto was the Bob and Vivian Smith Professor and Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Scientific Director of the DeBakey Heart Center, and the JS Abercrombie Chair for Atherosclerosis and Lipoprotein Research. He also served as Chief of the Internal Medicine Service at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. Dr. Gotto’s postgraduate work included doctoral studies at Oxford University in England, as a Rhodes Scholar, and residency training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

As a lifelong supporter of educational efforts aimed at cardiovascular risk reduction, Dr. Gotto has been National President of the American Heart Association and President of the International Atherosclerosis Society. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a recipient of many honors, including the Gold Heart Award from the American Heart Association and the Distinguished Alumnus award from Vanderbilt University and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

Dr. Gotto speaks nationally and internationally on cardiovascular disease and has contributed more than 500 scholarly articles and books to the medical literature. In addition, he is coauthor of a series of books that explain the origins and treatment of cardiovascular disease to the general public.
